Liza brings 13 years of extensive riding, showing and training experience to Destrier Sporthorses. As Owner & Trainer, she oversees each aspect of the barn, from daily horse care to breeding and show preparations. Liza began at a young age working under multiple different trainers in Southern Texas. Went off to college to get an Animal Science degree, specializing in behavior and training of young horses. Her experience includes breaking and training young horses (specializing in stallions), teaching daily private lessons to all age groups, buying and selling horses, and complete supervision of large show/sell barns. She graduated from Texas A&M with an Animal Science degree, she uses her depth of knowledge, along with patience and attention to detail to help each horse and rider reach their top potential. She is in the process of receiving her M.S. from Texas A&M and Ph. D in Animal Breeding and Genetics. She is always continuing her education to insure the best training method for each individual horse.
RIP Mount Everest 7/12/2014 You will always be remembered and have all of our hearts till the day we die. You always captured the hearts of others with your kindness, carefulness, and awareness. You inspired a lot of people to get into the incredible sport of horseback riding. Thank you for all the many gifts you brought into our lives.
